I facilitate spaces that strengthen social movements through principled conflict, interdependence, and political education.

ABOUT ME

I am a facilitator and organizer grateful to live in Ojibwe and Dakota territories in Duluth, MN. I have over ten years of experience in social movements, especially for water defense, anti-imperialism, Indigenous sovereignty, and immigration justice.

My work is deeply informed by transformative justice, abolition, disability justice, and internationalist solidarity. My most impactful teachers have been Guatemalan revolutionaries, Black feminists, rural organizers, and every survivor I've ever met.

I am drawn to conflict because it highlights our deepest needs, dreams, hurts, and beliefs. To build effective political coalitions, survive climate chaos, and peacefully coexist without a militarized state, we need to collectively improve our conflict skills. I seek to transform tough situations while supporting my clients to practice their integrity and interdependence for the long haul.

I am white, Jewish, queer, and I use they/them pronouns. You can find me biking, reading science fiction, growing sunflowers, and sitting on the shores of Lake Superior.

WHAT I OFFER

Consulting

I talk with individuals and groups about conflicts and other situations where they feel stuck. I provide a confidential and intentional space to vent, and I can help identify your learnings, map your choices, and practice your next steps.

Workshops

I facilitate workshops on a wide range of organizing skills, from giving feedback to de-escalation to security culture and more. I create spaces that are brave, honest, accessible, joyful, and based in the real world.

Freddie has a way with conflict that makes for more possibility on the internal, interpersonal, and collective levels. They are skilled at supporting all parties involved with respect, directness, and curiosity. –Bridget Brehen, Grassroots Global Justice Alliance (GGJA)

Facilitation

I facilitate in-person and online spaces that are effective, accessible, and satisfying. I support groups in agenda planning, preparation, and facilitation. I work with grassroots organizers, nonprofits, businesses, families, and more.

Mediation

I mediate conflicts and accountability processes between individuals and groups. I work with comrades, colleagues, friends, partners, family members, and more. I seek to transform conflict slowly, consensually, and collectively.

Freddie navigates conflicts with grace and empathy, reaches agreements that are satisfying for all parties, and identifies ways to move forward when conversations get stuck. Freddie facilitates processes that are creative, generative, and effective. They are always attentive to group and individual needs, they stay centered on liberatory principles, and they take the necessary time to be sure that everyone is on the same page. It is really a pleasure to work with Freddie as a comrade in struggle. –Sarasuadi Ochoa, Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala (NISGUA)

LET'S TALK

Facilitation and conflict work is as ancient as humans, but it's not a field that most people are familiar with. Every space I facilitate is uniquely tailored to my client's needs. I'd love to hear where you want support, and figure out together if I'm a good fit.

I am committed to financial transparency as a stepping stone towards collectively stewarding resources. I consider my faciliation and conflict work to be a community resource that I want all people to be able to access. Unfortunately, until we build a more life affirming economic system, I also need to pay my bills.

I spend the vast majority of my time doing unpaid local grassroots organizing. I structure my paid work sliding scale for an annual income of $15-19k. I almost never have capacity for more unpaid work, but you're welcome to ask!

If you're interested in working together, please send me an email at freddierose[at]protonmail.com. I will respond with my rates, collaboration agreements, and availability. Thank you!
